ACRW WINS AGAIN!

Alamo City Republican Women was honored again at the Texas Federation of Republican Women's Legislative Day luncheon in Austin on March 1. Our members and candidates reported 34,959 volunteer hours for the year 2006 and won first place in the super-jumbo club category! All members should be proud of this achievement. Sixty-nine clubs participated in the TFRW Fundraiser Basket Contest on this same day. Alamo City Republican Women was the first runner-up in the miscellaneous category and won $100.00 for our club. Our basket sold for $350.00, the second highest bid of the day. Tommye Crabb designed the basket. Please look in the photo section to view our entry. The main item was a white Alamo-shaped birdhouse, made by none other that ACRW member Anita Arnold and her husband, Bill. There was a Brighton Texas bracelet, a red sequinned hat with a rhinestone pin of San Antonio, four books: a San Antonio cookbook, one of the Riverwalk, one on the Missions and one on San Antonio plus a small pinata, Spurs posters, an original water color by local artist, Shawn Bridges, in addition to local foods, jewelry--and the list goes on!
