President's Messages > December 2014

I hope you enjoyed Dr. David Crockett on November 18.  He really gave us some good food for thought and we are so fortunate to have him visit us every 2 years to give his insight on the elections.   He has been coming to our November meetings now for 10 years—we had actually forgotten how many years it had been but he said he had been keeping a record.

I want to thank your for putting your trust in me again to serve as your President for another year and thank you for electing great people to serve along side of me.  I love being your President but what makes our club so successful is all of you. You faithfully renew your membership with us, you attend the luncheon meetings when you are able to and you help our candidates by donating to their campaigns or by the giving of your time.    You are all so appreciated and loved.

Many of our committee chairs have volunteered to stay on to serve in their positions for 2015 and they all need members to serve on their committees. Please look at the committees listed in your handbook and then volunteer to serve on the committee where you feel you are best suited.  The chair position may be open.

Our December 16 meeting is going to excellent and it is early enough that it will not interfere with your Christmas plans.  Jodie Rushton, the President of the Texas Federation of Republican Women will be installing the 2015 Executive Board plus she will give a short speech regarding the Federation.

Our special speaker is our SD 25 Senator, Dr. Donna Campbell and she will be filling us in on the plans for the 2015 Legislative session.

We will also have  musical entertainment by Tim Dishongh.  Maybe a sing-along and that is always so enjoyable and will get us in the Christmas spirit!

Please invite a friend and be sure to wear red.  If you don’t have any red clothes, how about green!
